The extensive art collection of the late designer Yves Saint Laurent is going under the hammer at Christie’s in Paris in what is being regarded as one of the largest private-owner auctions to be ever held.
Works by such greats as Picasso, Matisse, Goya, Warhol and other pieces from various artists will be up for grabs next year when Pierre Bergé & Associates, the auction house of the departed designer’s partner, begins auctioning off the collection estimated to be worth a breathtaking $600 million.
The sale is in accordance with the wishes of Laurent, who asked that 50% of the proceeds be donated towards the Pierre Bergé Foundation.
