Topshop is reportedly setting its sights on China, as owner Sir Philip Green is said to be close to signing a deal to rent space in the Shanghai Superbrand Mall.
Apart from renting retail space at the Shanghai mall, Green is also said to be scouting for further locations in Beijing and Hong Kong. His efforts are apparently part of his goal to take advantage of the sustained Chinese economic boom, as well as the sky-high profile that supermodel star designer Kate Moss is enjoying among China's youth.
"For the Chinese teenager with an eye on Western fashions, Kate Moss is pretty much the coolest person on the planet," an industry source tells today's Daily Mail. "Philip Green knows that only too well."
Naturally, the Moss’ collections will be at the forefront of the China campaign, which could possibly net the supermodel a potential £25 million.
Green, however, has yet to confirm said reports.
