Many people believe that the auspicious date of 08/08/08 is lucky. Tommy Hilfiger, however, apparently isn’t one of those people.

The American designer’s wedding to Dee Ocleppo on August 8 has been cancelled just days before the ceremony was due to take place. Hilfiger and his stunning blonde fiancée had been planning to get hitched in a private ceremony on the island of Mustique, followed by a big celebration with family and friends for Oct. 17 at the Plaza in New York.

Hilfiger and Ocleppo, who has previously been linked to actor Bruce Willis, Prince Albert of Monaco and singer Mick Hucknall, have mutually decided to call off the ceremony and the split is said to be amicable, according to Page Six.
