Bergdorf Goodman - z.about.com
Bergdorf Goodman has just been named most prestigious luxury retailer in a survey conducted by the independent New York-based Luxury Institute.
The world renowned luxury goods store topped the 2008 Luxury Customer Experience Index (LCEI) survey, whose respondents are high net-worth consumers. Female respondents over 50 years of age with a net income of $150,000 to $199,000 and a net worth of under $1 million had favorable opinions of Bergdorf, choosing it over its sister brand Neiman Marcus and other luxury retailers.
The department store also garnered top marks in the best customer experience category, and received praises for the quality of its merchandise and the level of personalization in its service. Other stores included in the survey are second-placer Nordstrom, Barneys New York, Bloomingdale's, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Brooks Brothers.
