Supermodel Kathy Ireland To Speak At U.N.

Kathy Ireland, the supermodel who has graced the pages of Sports Illustrated a record 13 times, is scheduled to address the 4th Annual International Youth Assembly at the United Nations Monday.

Ireland, who is now the CEO of design and marketing firm Kathy Ireland Worldwide, will tackle in her speech how developing countries can achieve their goals. The woman once dubbed by Forbes magazine as a “supermodel-turned-super-mogul” will also be lunching with the participants of the Youth Assembly.

In a statement released Thursday, Ireland said: “Our future belongs to our youth. It is a great honor to join these young leaders at the United Nations for this powerful event. Secretary General Elaine Valdov and the great team at Friendship Ambassadors Foundation are amazing in their efforts to inspire young people to lead and to change the planet.”

Apart from her numerous stints with Sports Illustrated, Ireland has also acted in a number of movies. On top of all this, she is involved with many non-profit organizations, and actively participates in many charities and important causes.
