A furious Stella McCartney has demanded that fur label Hockley remove one of its new-season ads that feature one of her lingerie designs.
McCartney, who is a dedicated animal rights campaigner and a strict vegetarian, was reportedly angered by the sight of a sheer bra from her new lingerie collection worn by a model underneath a mink coat in an ad in fashion bible Vogue.
"If Stella knew it was going to be used by Hockley there is no way she would have lent it. It was loaned to a stylist in good faith, but when Stella saw the picture she was furious. Stella is disgusted”, a source who works with the designer revealed to the Telegraph.
Hockley immediately issued an apology, and promptly pulled the offending ad.
"Hockley is aware of Stella McCartney's views and is respectful of them. This was an unfortunate mistake and Hockley would not intentionally make anyone feel uncomfortable", a spokesperson for the fashion house said.
