Sonia Rykiel Appoints Greiss As Creative Director

Sonia Rykiel has announced that it has appointed Gabrielle Greiss as its creative director.

A designer trained at London's famous Central Saint Martin's school, Greiss will be working on the Sonia Rykiel line alongside Nathalie Rykiel, daughter of founder Madame Sonia Rykiel and currently the company’s President and Artistic Director.

Greiss, who has also worked as a stylist on Another Magazine and Dazed & Confused, is no stranger to the workings of the high fashion company, having been working as the chief assistant for Madame Sonia Rykiel for three years prior to her promotion to creative director.

Founded in 1967, Sonia Rykiel, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, is the only French company in high fashion that is still owned by the family that founded it, with its 78-year-old founder still designing.
