Last month, we learned that internationally renowned British artist Damien Hirst was being tapped by Levi’s as guest designer for Levi's Warhol Factory X collection. Now we get to take a first look at his work for the brand.
Levi’s released this picture of a black Levi’s denim grafted with crystal skulls, apparently Hirst’s homage to his own controversial artwork, the $99 million, diamond-studded human skull.
The entire range to be designed by Hirst will debut at New York's Spring 2008 Fashion Week, to be showcased at a runway show at the Gagosian gallery in Chelsea. However, Levi’s lovers will have to wait until January before they could get their hands on the range, which will feature both men's and women's selections.
A winner of the Tate Gallery Turner Prize, Hirst is best known for his Natural History series, where he preserves dead animals in formaldehyde and presents them as art.
