Film icon Grace Kelly and her sense of style will be honored by Saks Fifth Avenue through a showcase of the late Princess’ most iconic looks in a display at the famous New York department store this week.
The month-long tribute will feature recreations by world-famous designers such as Ralph Lauren, Oscar de la Renta, Vera Wang, Carolina Herrera, Ralph Rucci and Zac Posen of some of the legendary looks perpetuated by the late Princess of Monaco onscreen.
The dresses on display were inspired by costumes from such films as "To Catch a Thief," "High Society" and "Rear Window". The gown Grace Kelly was wearing the night she won the Best Actress Oscar for "The Country Girl" in 1955 has also been recreated.
Saks Vice President and women's Fashion Director Michael Fink said, "Grace Kelly had an undeniable influence on fashion and she unarguably continues to be an important fashion icon of our time"
Kelly, who married Prince Rainier III of Monaco in 1956 and became Princess Grace, died in a car crash in 1982 at the age of 52.
