There is a buzz that Emilio Pucci is reportedly on the lookout for a replacement to Matthew Williamson, currently creative director at his eponymous label.
According to WWD, Pucci is said to have approached some design assistants within the label to take the place of Williamson, who is apparently focusing more on his rising own-name label.
Williamson has been at the creative helm of Pucci since 2005. But with the success of his own label, which has been established since 1997, also comes a heavier workload for the Manchester-born designer.
And with the acquisition last summer of a stake in Matthew Williamson Holdings Ltd by private equity firm TSM Capital, in collaboration with the Aronsson Group, Williamson could only get busier and busier. He is, in fact, about to open the first Matthew Williamson flagship store in the US, right in Manhattan's Meatpacking District.
