Madonna is kicking off a new world tour this month, and it’s shaping up to be one stylish affair.
The Sticky & Sweet world tour, which kicks off on August 23, will see the pop icon wear costumes from such names as Givenchy, Yves Saint Laurent, Miu Miu, Stella McCartney, Moschino and Jeremy Scott. Even the band gets in on the fashion action, as they are also set to wear bespoke suits by Tom Ford.
Expected to steal the show, however, are the Givenchy costumes especially created for the Material Girl by creative director Riccardo Tisci, what with its Art Deco and gypsy references.
And Arianne Phillips, who has been Madonna’s costume designer for 11 years, is all praises for Tisci, and thinks he’s just perfect for Madonna’s sense of style.
“Riccardo’s a new young talent. If you look at Madonna’s history with fashion, that makes him an obvious choice”, she tells WWD.
