Naomi Campbell Quits Premier Models

Premier Models, the agency that made supermodel Naomi Campbell famous, has just lost one of the biggest stars in its stable.

In a move that took the modeling world by surprise, the supermodel has left Premier in the dust and went on to sign with U.S. giant IMG, joining such talents as Gisele Bundchen, Tyra Banks, Laetitia Casta, Heidi Klum, Carolyn Murphy and many stars of the catwalk.

It surprised Premier as well, and they understandably are none too happy about it. According to The Sun:

An insider at Premier — which has stood by Naomi despite her temper and drug demons — said: “We’re gobsmacked. Premier has helped Naomi find fame and fortune and now she walks out on us.

“We supported her one thousand per cent over her recent troubles.” A source close to Naomi said: “IMG has a bigger worldwide appeal.”

Premier has stuck with the supermodel despite the negative publicity generated by the violent behavior she has displayed towards her own staff and fellow models, and other legal troubles.

While moving to another agency is ultimately Naomi’s right, the abruptness of her decision is hardly model behavior.
