Naomi Campbell got away with 200 hours of unpaid community work after pleading guilty to assaulting two police officers during an altercation at London’s Heathrow Airport in April.
The hotheaded supermodel has admitted to assaulting two police officers and to a public order offence. She had faced up to six months in jail and a fine of 5,000 pounds or the offenses, but the Uxbridge Magistrates Court instead slapped her with the community service sentence, as well as compensation of 200 pounds to one of the police officers, 150 pounds to the captain of the Los Angeles-bound British Airways flight where she was arrested, and a further 2,300 pounds in fines.
The incident stemmed from the check-in and baggage handling problems that bugged the newly opened Terminal 5, where tens of thousands of suitcases went missing. Campbell owned one of those lost bags, and promptly threw into a rage which ended with her arrest.
"I think she feels the whole situation is unfortunate and of course she will execute her community service", a rep for Campbell said. The supermodel is no stranger to performing community service, having served one in New York last year for throwing a mobile phone at her housekeeper
