The new health rules that will be implemented in the upcoming London Fashion Week may turn some models off the fashion event and stay away, according to Storm agency boss Sarah Doukas.
While Doukas is okay with most of the 14 new rules, such as the ban on models under 16, as set out by the British Fashion Council's Model Health Inquiry of which she is a panelist, she has issues with the rule which asks models to offer doctors certificates "attesting their good health".
"That is unrealistic. I think they [the certificates] are crazy - not a good idea. It will make some of the girls even more paranoid and freaked out about the weight thing, and they won't come to the UK market, they simply won't come to London Fashion Week. It will keep them away and they will stay in Paris and New York where they don't have to do it," she said.
Doukas is the founder of Storm modeling agency, and represents some major names in modeling, including Jourdan Dunn and Kate Moss.
