Modeling Scams and Problem Photographers

Modellaunch.com details the scenario...the all-too-familiar story of the model who has been coaxed by a scandalous photographer into taking their clothes off and doing things they normally wouldn't if not in a vulnerable position. Also be aware of photographers who imitate techniques just to touch the model, such as measuring and applying tanning lotion.

Models are encouraged to watch out for hidden video cameras hidden in bedrooms or other areas of the set location, and also check out rooms used for changing to make sure no hidden video cameras lie within the area.

Most importantly models should be on the lookout for shady photographers who might resort to slipping the model Viagra or other date rape drugs. Try to stay away from unopened bottles or cans and keep a lookout when beverages are being prepared.

Most photographers are talented hard-working individuals who try to help models get ahead in the fashion industry. Not all photographers can't be trusted, but it doesn't hurt to be extra cautious.

There are also many problem photographers operating on the edges of the industry. They are entry-level predators and usually amateur, using photography as a way to meet hot guys or girls. For this group, the photography itself is secondary, a means to an end.
