Model Dies In Apparent Suicide

A model from the former Russian republic of Kazakhstan died Saturday after falling from her ninth floor apartment in lower Manhattan.

According to the city medical examiner's office, 20-year-old model Ruslana Korshunova suffered from blunt impact injuries resulting from the fall and her death has been ruled a suicide. However, no suicide note has been found.

Korshunova, who is known for her long hair and green eyes, had a promising career in modeling ahead of her. She was represented in New York by IMG Models, the same agency handling the very successful careers of supermodels like Kate Moss and Heidi Klum. Korshunova has appeared on the covers of European editions of Elle and Vogue magazines, as well as in ads for DKNY, Vera Wang, Marc Jacobs and other designers.
