Miuccia Prada has a something new to offer fashionable men this holiday season: a limited-edition collection of patch ties that she created from vintage silks.

With a mind to using classic fabrics and patterns in a fresh, new way, the exclusive ties were created by Prada by “collaging” different fabrics and silks dug up from old Italian fabric archives. The designer made use of classic silks, which bear colors and patterns that include bright turquoise and coral, gold stripes, and black and silver accented with polka dots and stars.

The patch ties, which date from the 1950's to the present, will truly be limited-edition, numbered progressively as some of the looms need to reproduce the fabrics which are currently not available anymore.

The ties are expected to be available from December 2007.
