Actress Michelle Rodriguez was seen hitting New York Fashion Week in a Marc Jacobs dress. While the pearl dress she wore was glamorous, what really caught the attention of people was the fact that she wore a weird-looking bracelet on her left ankle the whole time.

Actually, the bracelet is sort of a souvenir from the time she was arrested for drunk driving in Hawaii, where she was taping scenes for the second season of the hit ABC television series Lost. And just like other drunk driving offenders, she had been forced to wear the metal clamp 24 hours a day to monitor the wearer’s alcohol levels.

"It registers your sweat glands for alcohol content", she said.

But despite the obvious discomfort the bracelet brings, Rodriguez still managed to keep her sense of humor intact. As if to poke fun at the whole thing, she wrote “Orwell” and “1984” on the bracelet, referring to George Orwell, his classic novel 1984, and the phrase 'Big Brother is watching you’, which was featured in the book.

Big Brother, indeed, is watching her.
