After much speculation about what Michelle Obama will be wearing at the Democratic National Convention last week, we finally have a winner, and it's none other than Thai designer Thakoon Panchigul.
Unlike other political women who are often seen wearing Oscar de la Renta or Carolina Herrera creations, Michelle chose to wear a printed Thakoon dress adorned with three Erickson Beamon broaches as her husband Barack, the Democrats' bet for the U.S. Presidency, delivered his nomination acceptance speech. And the designer couldn't be more elated by it.
"I am incredibly honored that Michelle Obama chose to wear a dress from my collection on such a historical night for her, her family and this country," the designer said.
Much of the buzz surrounding Michelle Obama's dress on convention night stems from the fact that she has earned a coveted place on the latest Vanity Fair Best Dressed List, along with style icons such as Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Sarah Jessica Parker.
