Marilyn Monroe Clothing Line To Launch

Looks like the trend of celebrities launching their own fashion lines extends even to celebs who have long been dead and gone.

In what could only be a clear-cut case of cashing in on the name of a celebrated icon, an entire collection using the name of the late screen goddess Marilyn Monroe will be launched next year.

According to WWD, Bradford Licensing Associates in America, which owns the rights to 400 archive photos of Monroe, in collaboration with U.K. based manufacturer Blues Clothing, will create a Marilyn Monroe-inspired clothing line that is said to be aimed at young adults.

"We have had the most success with apparel licenses specifically focusing on the retro look, so we think that Blues Clothing will follow in the same direction. We expect the line to be trendy, fashionable and girly just like Marilyn was in person", said Michelle Minieri, president of Bradford Licensing.

While there are details yet on what the collection would look like, Blues Clothing has said it plans to release a full line of apparel including T-shirts, tops, dresses, trousers and underwear.

The Marilyn Monroe collection will initially be launched in France early next year.
