Designer Marco Zanini has reportedly quit as creative director of 70s brand Halston after only 12 months in the position.

Hired by Harvey Weinstein and Tamara Mellon Jimmy Choo director Tamara Mellon last year to bring Halston back to life, Zanini has also reportedly designed the spring 09 collection which will debut at New York Fashion Week before leaving the company.

A replacement for Zanini, who left Versace to fill up the post, has yet to be named. Halston, which was hugely popular in the 1970s, is still on the lookout for a new creative director to continue resurrection efforts for the brand.
