Footwear designer Manolo Blahnik is set to receive the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style Award in LA this September.
The Rodeo Drive Committee and the City of Beverly Hills has deemed it fit to give Blahnik the honor in recognition of his contributions to fashion within the entertainment industry. He will receive a permanent plaque on the famous shopping street on Sept. 25.
The British cobbler is most closely identified with the wildly-successful HBO comedy series “Sex and the City”, as well as the recent hit movie inspired by the series. His shoes, which are known for their luxury and elegance, have also won a costume design award for “Marie Antoinette”.
With the award, Blahnik joins an illustrious club that includes the likes of Salvatore Ferregamo, Gianni and Donatella Versace, Tom Ford and Giorgio Armani, who won the first award in 2003.
