LVMH Acquires "Mega-Yacht" Builder

Dutch firm Royal van Lent, designer and builder of luxury custom "mega-yachts", has been bought by luxury group LVMH, further consolidating its hold on the luxury sector.

With the acquisition, details of which were undisclosed, from Netherlands-based investment firm Egeria, Royal van Lent joins such luxury names as Louis Vuitton, Givenchy, Fendi, Emilio Pucci, Donna Karan and Marc Jacobs in the LVMH stable.
