Models who will be gliding down the catwalks of next week’s London Fashion week could be made to undergo drug testing before being allowed to work.
That, among many other things, is just one of things that could be implemented by the Model Health Inquiry, which just released a ‘survival guide’ called ‘Fashion Bites’. Basically an information sheet that carries tips on healthy living and eating, the Fashion Bites survival guide also discusses other issues such as safe sex, smoking, alcohol and drug use.
Apart from the drug testing for models, modeling agencies may also face the possibility of arranging medical checks, including screening for eating disorders, before being granted a license.
Created with the welfare of the model in mind, copies of ‘Fashion Bites’ are currently being handed out to all top modeling agencies in the world, as well as at model castings for shows.
