For the first time in history, fashion house Fendi will be presenting its newest collection in Paris instead of Milan, thanks to the efforts of legendary designer Karl Lagerfeld.
And the show that Lagerfeld has in mind for Fendi in the courtyard at LVMH's Paris headquarters would be anything but normal. According to fashion bible WWD, Chanel’s creative director is planning a “novel way of showing” the collection that is neither “static” nor “runway”.
Lagerfeld’s words bring to mind the show he organized for Fendi at the Great Wall of China last year. In true Lagerfeld fashion, the Great Wall, the only man-made structure visible from the moon, was transformed into a catwalk. That spectacle saw 88 models sashay down the catwalk, modeling a variety of fur and silk mixtures with belts, as well as Fendi longish hand bags.
