Lagerfeld Picks London for Chanel Showcase

Legendary designer and Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld has decided to hold the French fashion house’s pre autumn/winter collection showcase in London.

Lagerfeld told fashion bible WWD that he chose the British capital as the setting for the exclusive fashion event because he thinks “London can be fun.”

The event, which Lagerfeld created in 2002, is likely to take place in an art gallery in early December, although details remain sketchy.

Last year, Monte Carlo hosted the lavish event, which Lagerfield pioneered in order to show off the talents of seven ateliers bought by Chanel while also preserving the industry's traditions.

Just recently, Lagerfeld, who is also famous for his collaborations with Chloe and Fendi and has his own label, has formed a partnership with Accessory Network Group to launch a range of handbags, small leather goods and luggage.
