The past few months may have been troubled times for Kate Moss, but her influence on the world of fashion remains undiminished, topping the fashion category of The Evening Standard's prestigious poll of the 1,000 most influential people in London.

Joining the English supermodel in the Top Five are Net-a-Porter founder Natalie Massenet, fashion editor Suzy Menkes, Burberry Creative Director Christopher Bailey and Stuart Rose, Chief Executive Officer of M&S.

According to Simon Davis, the list's editor, "London is the world's most influential city from retail to health to art, property and theatre. It is the people who make the decisions and have the energy, creativity and power to see them through that make this city so influential. You don't need to be wealthy or famous to have influence - many of the people in our list work behind the scenes."

Also making to the top 50 of the list, which is drawn up by a panel of specialist contributors and has 22 categories overall, are such names as Sir Philip Green, Storm Models founder Sarah Doukas and Vivienne Westwood. Named among fashion's greatest "up-and-comers", meanwhile, are 19RM founder Simon Fuller and, and sister act Sienna and Savannah Miller for Twenty8Twelve.
