Jennifer Hudson Is In Vogue

This is definitely Jennifer Hudson’s year.

The American Idol castoff is set to make history as she becomes the first African-American singer to grace the cover of Vogue.

The issue, which will hit newsstands on February 20, features Hudson in Carolina Herrera and J. Mendel gowns, with photography by legendary photgrapher Annie Leibovitz. It also has an accompanying article written by Vogue's Andre Leon Talley, where she talks about family, as well as her visits to the fitting rooms of such designers as Oscar de la Renta and Vera Wang.

The year 2007 is still very young, but it is shaping up to be one hell of a year for Jennifer Hudson.

First, she won the Golden Globe for her smashing performance as Effie White in the movie “Dreamgirls”. Then she bested other nominees at the Screen Actors Guild Awards and came home with another win for the same role. The same thing happened with BAFTA, which saw fit to honor Hudson. Pretty soon, it won’t be much of a surprise if Hudson completes a sweep with an Oscar, for which she is a heavy favorite.
