Iman, one of the world’s first supermodels, has announced that she will be hosting the Canadian edition of the Emmy-nominated U.S. series Project Runway.
The 51-year-old Somali-born supermodel apparently had the gig in the bag after she appeared as a judge on the American version of the show, saying it was one of the show’s highest-rated episodes.
Project Runway Canada, which is produced by Insight Production Co. Ltd., will begin shooting by the middle of June up to the middle of July. The show will then air on Slice in October. Throughout the entire shoot, Iman, who is married to music icon David Bowie, will be staying at the Windsor Arms Hotel accompanied by her 6-year-old daughter and the girl’s nanny.
Iman, born Iman Abdulmajid in Mogadishu, Somalia, still looks as stunning as she did when she rose to modeling superstardom in the 1970s. One of the world’s most recognizable and popular fashion models, she is also currently the CEO of Iman Cosmetics, a beauty company she founded that created the first cosmetics collection for women of color.
