The house of Salvatore Ferragamo marked it’s 80th year in the business with a series of glamorous events in Shanghai, China.
With celebrities such as Cristina Ricci, Melissa George and Jennifer Jason Lee in attendance, the festivities started off with a retrospective called “Salvatore Ferragamo: Evolving Legend 1928-2008” at Shanghai’s Museum of Contemporary Art. Afterwards, a riverside fashion show was staged along the Huang Pu river. A VIP cocktail party then capped the festivities.
But the event was not just all pleasure. Ferragamo also did a little business, launching its newest products: Tuscan Soul, the latest Ferragamo fragrance, and a new line of watches in partnership with Timex.
Wanda Ferragamo, widow of the late founder and design legend Salvatore, said, "This might be our 80th anniversary, but the fashion world has known the Ferragamo name for nearly a century. "This event is especially important to us because it is the first time that we are presenting a retrospective not on Salvatore the man, but on the business he founded: its identity, innovations and values".
