DVF To Collaborate With Andy Warhol Foundation For Swimwear Range

Diane von Furstenberg is collaborating with The Andy Warhol Foundation to design a resort 2008 and pre-spring 2009 collection.

Furstenberg, who has just been reelected as president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America, says the collection, which includes caftans, bikinis and one-piece suits that bears the bright hues and big-leaf flowers that Warhol was known for, “feels right”, since she and the late pop artist were contemporaries. She also said that Warhol was a big influence during the early stages of her career.

“Andy’s Pop colors and iconic images feel glamorous and right for beach,” said von Furstenberg, who has posed for Warhol’s famed portraits, as well as appeared twice on the front cover of his Interview magazine.
