Chalayan Hits Dover Street Market

London’s Dover Street Market has added British designer Hussein Chalayan to its already illustrious list of fashion stores.

Located on the retail space's third floor, the unique space has already hosted Chalayan’s launch, in collaboration with British design team Block Architecture, of five worldwide exclusive, special show looks this weekend. Key pieces from his Grains & Steel autumn/winter 2008-9 collection were also on display.

"I have admired Dover Street Market from the beginning, so, it is a great honour to have a slice of my world in there, starting with our autumn/winter 2008-9 collection," the designer says. "The space was based on being in a garden, and is an interplay of being indoor and outdoors."

With Chalayan joining the likes of Chanel and Yves Saint Laurent at Dover Street Market, the retail space has just become, if it’s even possible, an even more fashionable place.
