Fashionistas have embraced Lindsay Lohan’s leggings range, with the collection proving to be a hit as it sold out in stores across the United States.

The fashion accessories line, named 6126 after screen legend Marilyn Monroe's birthdate, was launched earlier this month. And it has become such a hit that customers are now being placed on a waiting list until stores can order new stock.

"The collection is blowing out, we were so overwhelmed by the reaction. We have launched other celebrity collections here, and this one is just flying through the door”, Los Angeles boutique owner Jaye Hersh tells E! Online.

US Retailer Drops Lauren Conrad Fashion Label

Top US retailer Kitson has taken Lauren Conrad's fashion label off its shelves.

Conrad, who became known for her appearance in the MTV reality show The Hills, has only launched her label in February, and Kitson’s decision to drop her fashion line from its catalog doesn’t bode well for the future of her range.

Part of the reason, store owner Fraser Ross says, for the fashion label’s failure are lackluster sales brought about by the celebrity’s lazy attitude towards promotion.

Looks like the trend of celebrities launching their own fashion lines extends even to celebs who have long been dead and gone.

In what could only be a clear-cut case of cashing in on the name of a celebrated icon, an entire collection using the name of the late screen goddess Marilyn Monroe will be launched next year.

According to WWD, Bradford Licensing Associates in America, which owns the rights to 400 archive photos of Monroe, in collaboration with U.K. based manufacturer Blues Clothing, will create a Marilyn Monroe-inspired clothing line that is said to be aimed at young adults.

Rihanna has signed on to become the face of Gucci’s UNICEF campaign.

No less than Gucci creative director Frida Giannini sought the Barbados-born singer out to participate in her label’s fund-raising campaign for children’s rights after seeing her perform at a UNICEF fundraiser earlier this year.

As part of her commitment with the Gucci drive, the 20-year-old Rihanna will appear in ads for the ‘Tattoo Heart’ campaign, which will see special limited edition Gucci products sold, with 25 percent of its sales to be donated to UNICEF.
