For the first time since it started holding catwalk shows, Calvin Klein will be showcasing its menswear collection on US soil for autumn/winter 2009-10.
It will be a homecoming of sorts for the label, which has confirmed that it will hold a show at New York Fashion Week in February as a one-off event.
"I am very excited to show the men's collection in New York. I think this is a very exciting time for menswear here, as there are a lot of new and interesting young designers working in New York now," says Italo Zucchelli, creative director of the menswear collection. "Additionally, I think it is a very good signal to our US retailers that we are building the business in the United States."
The date for the Calvin Klein show has yet to be set, but the venue has already been picked, and that would be the ground floor event space at Calvin Klein's New York City headquarters.
