BFC Confirms Date For British Fashion Awards

The British Fashion Council has confirmed that the 2008 British Fashion Awards will take place on November 25 at Lawrence Hall in London's Westminster.

To be sponsored once again by Swarovski, the event celebrates the best of British fashion. Ten categories, including British Designer of the Year, won last year by Stella McCartney; best New Designer, Best Model and the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator, are waiting to be filled.

"British Fashion Award winners demonstrate excellence throughout the year in one of the world's most competitive industries," comments Hilary Riva, the BFC's chief executive. "British designers are known internationally to be the most exciting and creative; the Awards recognise the best of these extraordinary talents".

The event is expected to draw some 500 fashion industry leaders, celebrities, designers, retailers, models and journalists.
