Naomi Campbell - www.enjoyfashion.com
Naomi Campbell has signed on to star in a Spike Lee joint—that is, a movie by Oscar-nominated director Spike Lee.
British Vogue says that the movie is all about a regiment of black soldiers stationed in Tuscany during World War II. How typical of a Spike Lee joint. In any case, the supermodel says her role in the film is “very very small”, but she is looking forward to working with the director of such racially-themed movies as “Malcolm X”, “Jungle Fever” and “He Got Game”.
Maddison Gabriel - www.dailymail.co.uk
While models below the age of 16 have been banned from the ongoing London Fashion Week, a 12-year-old girl has been causing quite a stir when she was picked to become the face of one of the biggest fashion shows in the world.
Maddison Gabriel, a blonde and blue-eyed girl who stands at 5-foot-7, has been chosen as the official ambassador of Australia’s Gold Coast Fashion Week. And many people, including Australian Prime Minister John Howard, have slammed the decision, saying she’s too young to glide down the catwalk.
Maddison, however, begs to differ.

Naomi Campbell has already ranted before against British Vogue for the way it rarely features models of color. Contrary to expectations, there would be no outright ban on ultra-skinny models at London Fashion Week, which starts today.
The British Fashion Council, which organizes the major fashion event, said Friday that while there is no ban on size-zero models, models who will work during London Fashion Week are required to submit a certificate of good health before they can strut down the LFW catwalks.
In its report, the council said, "We have considered this carefully and listened to a range of expert views. But we do not believe a focus on BMI (body mass index) provides the way forward. We favour the alternative approach of promoting good health based on medical assessments of models participating in London Fashion Week.
The council, however, has already recommended that models who are under the age of 16 should not be allowed to walk the LFW runways.

Moss and Brown have also partnered with a private investor in producing James Brown London, which is a 16-unit collection of hair care and styling products. In addition, the supermodel is also involved in the line’s ad campaign, which includes the photo to the left. The pictures were taken by Pietro Birindelli, but it was Kate who art-directed the shoot, according to Brown.

Fashion Bites - www.thedoll.org
Models who will be gliding down the catwalks of next week’s London Fashion week could be made to undergo drug testing before being allowed to work.
That, among many other things, is just one of things that could be implemented by the Model Health Inquiry, which just released a ‘survival guide’ called ‘Fashion Bites’. Basically an information sheet that carries tips on healthy living and eating, the Fashion Bites survival guide also discusses other issues such as safe sex, smoking, alcohol and drug use.
