The supermodel is currently in Long island shooting a short film by Alanna Masterson, her band mate from her recently formed music group. She plays an imaginary friend in the film, whose working title is “The Right Side of My Exultant Brain” written by Masterson as her thesis for New York Film Academy.

Badgley Mischka Branching Into Fine Jewelry

Badgley Mishka is further expanding its reach in the fashion world by launching its own fine jewelry line.

"We're diamond fanatics," said Mark Badgley. "Fine jewelry is such a logical expression of luxury. Customers of our couture all wear fine jewelry".

According to WWD, the full jewelry collection, which will launch in September, will include 37 styles of engagement rings, with prices that range from $2,000 for a small diamond and pearl piece to $250,000 for a ruby and diamond suite. The engagement ring collection, however, will be launched ahead of the others at the Couture jewelry trade show in Las Vegas on Wednesday, with prices starting from $1,800 to $5,000 for the mountings without the center stone.

The actress, whose rep told Elle that she loves fashion “and especially handbags", apparently worked with a team of designers to come up with her own range of handbags.

Inspired by vintage finds that Mischa discovered on her travels, her handbag range, whose designs are still being kept under wraps, reportedly include pieces made from leather and snakeskin, all finished with a flower logo that Barton drew by hand herself.

Dolce and Gabbana Store Robbed

The fashion bandits are at it again, this time hitting a Dolce and Gabbana boutique on Old Bond Street in London.

The gang of thieves, which has been terrorizing fashion stores in the British capital last summer, reportedly smashed through the doors of the D & G store and carted away handbags and accessories worth thousands of pounds.

Despite the arrest of possible suspects by police, the raids continue to wreak havoc on London’s fashion stores, with six similar inccidents taking place in the last three weeks.

Last summer, outlets of such labels as Luella, Anya Hindmarch and Marc Jacobs lost thousands of pounds worth of merchandise to fashion bandits.

Stella McCartney Goes Back to Her Roots

Stella McCartney will be heading to Liverpool, the birthplace of her legendary father Paul McCartney, for a special presentation of her autumn/winter '08 collection next month.

The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA), a school co-founded by the ex-Beatle, will be hosting the show right in its Paul McCartney auditorium. The presentation is part of the city’s efforts to promote itself as the European capital of culture in 2008.

The elder McCartney is expected to be in the audience during the show, and will also perform with still unnamed British artists as part of the program.

Bundchen Sued By Worker

Gisele Bundchen has found herself at the receiving end of a lawsuit filed against her by a carpenter who was injured while working at the Brazilian supermodel's apartment in New York.

The New York Post reported Sunday that carpenter Martin Marrero suffered a fractured shoulder, broken ribs and herniated spinal discs after falling off a staircase in Bundchen's apartment. The complainant’s lawyer, Keith Ahlers, claims that his client, who was working on renovations at the supermodel’s place, was injured on a staircase in the apartment that did not have a handrail.

British Fashion Council chairman Harold Tillman and Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto have been conferred honorary awards by the University of the Arts in London in recognition of their significant contributions to the world of fashion.

Tillman, a fashion entrepreneur whose holdings include Jaeger, and Yamamoto, the first designer allowed by the Chinese government to stage a fashion show in Beijing's Forbidden Palace, received their awards at a ceremony Thursday.
