A collaboration between two of the world's most influential labels is in the works, as Louis Vuitton and Rei Kawakubo of Commes des Garcons have come together to open a joint store in Tokyo.

In a New York Times article, Yves Carcelle, chairman and ceo of Louis Vuitton, explained that the collaboration was the idea of the Japanese fashion house, and the luxury label felt it was the perfect way to mark the thirtieth year of the first Louis Vuitton store in Japan.

Court Orders eBay To Toughen Up Against Fakes

Here’s good news for eBay customers who have bought counterfeit products from the online auction site: a French court has ruled that eBay must come up with tougher measures against fake merchandise that find their way into the site and are being sold as genuine articles.

On top of that, the same court also ordered eBay to pay LVMH, the luxury brand that owns Louis Vuitton, 19 million euros in compensation, saying the site had allowed 'grave errors' to take place.

Christian Dior was also awarded more than 17 million euros, while Parfums Christian Dior, Parfums Kenzo, Guerlain and Parfums Givenchy were awarded around 3 million euros.

Australian designer Charlie Brown is reportedly eyeing Terri Irwin, widow of the late “Crocodile Hunter”, Steve Irwin, to be the face of her autumn/winter campaign.

“Now the word is that Irwin, who astounded the TV world at the Daytime Emmys with her pumped-up muscles, will come across as Charlie Brown's fashion face for her autumn/winter campaign”, writes Sydney's Daily Telegraph newspaper.

Model Dies In Apparent Suicide

A model from the former Russian republic of Kazakhstan died Saturday after falling from her ninth floor apartment in lower Manhattan.

According to the city medical examiner's office, 20-year-old model Ruslana Korshunova suffered from blunt impact injuries resulting from the fall and her death has been ruled a suicide. However, no suicide note has been found.

Christopher Kane is Scottish Designer of the Year, Again

For the second consecutive year, the Scottish Fashion Awards has seen fit to hand its most prestigious award to Christopher Kane.

Kane beat out fellow Scots Jonathan Saunders, Graeme Black, and Deryck Walker to retain the title “Scottish Designer of the Year”.

"It was such a thrill to be involved in this event and a real honour to be there to see Christopher Kane pick up yet another well deserved accolade," said Vogue.com editor, Dolly Jones.

Kate Moss Hair Extensions Up For Auction

Here’s some good news for fans of Kate Moss who want to own a piece of their favorite supermodel:  hair extensions that once were stuck to the supermodel’s scalp are now up for auction on eBay.

Selling off the supermodel extensions is photographer John Farr, who picked up the locks when they fell off Moss’ head as she was trying to evade paparazzi during a drunken night out in Berlin, Germany.

Fortunately, Farr isn’t just out to make a quick buck. Proceeds of the auction, which will close on July 3, will all go to Keine Macht den Drogen (No Power to Drugs), a German anti-drug charity.

It is said that the designer’s friends kept requesting him to do bridal dresses, hence, the decision to do them. A Valli collection of bridal couture is in the works, which could range from from hand-crinkled bustier styles to elegant fairytale creations. Each design, the designer tells WWD, is “dedicated to my friends”, a reference to the unique "personality" of each design.

Shiseido Drops Angelina Jolie, Taps Agyness Deyn

Angelina Jolie is no longer the face of Shiseido cosmetics, and instead chose rising English supermodel Agyness Deyn to front its campaigns.

The Academy Award-winning actress has been the Japanese cosmetics giant’s ambassador since 2006, with appearances in many of the brand’s commercials and print ads.

The 25-year-old Deyn, however, is reportedly slated to feature in Shiseido's Maquillage ad campaign this coming autumn.

Years of speculation in the media that Pope Benedict XVI wears Prada has finally been addressed by the Vatican, as its newspaper flatly denied that the Pontiff wears designer loafers by the Milanese fashion house.

L'Osservatore Romano has dismissed the rumors, saying that "Obviously the attribution was false. Such rumors are inconsistent with the simple and somber man who, on the day of his election to the papacy, showed to the faithful gathered in St. Peter's Square and to the whole world the sleeves of a modest black sweater”.

Ferre Dives Into Real Estate Business

Italian fashion house Gianfranco Ferre is venturing into real estate with the signing of a multi-billion dollar joint venture agreement with Galadari Investment Office (GIO) to create "couture architecture".

To rise in Dubai, the first project of the venture is called Gianfranco Ferré Stresa, a building planned to be a residential and commercial complex due to be completed by the last quarter of 2011. Envisioned to have at least 60 floors, the building’s estimated construction cost is a whopping $1.2 billion
