A new award is to be given out by the Ecco Domani Fashion Foundation as it enters its eighth season: The Sustainable Design Award.
The new award, which will join the women's wear, menswear, and accessories categories, aims to recognize designers whose creations are made using eco-friendly materials, as well as make use of production methods that promote fair trade or social equity for workers.
"Fashion is a very real reflection of the times we live in, and Ecco Domani is the first to create an award for those emerging designers who are not only thinking about fashion design, but also how the whole process affects the planet", said Julie Gilhart, EDFF judge and VP of fashion merchandising at Barneys New York.

For the sixth time around, Kate Moss is once again headlining Longchamp's new advertising campaign.
Sharing the spotlight with the English supermodel, however, is rising French actor Gaspard Ulliel. The star of such movies such as 2004's A Very Long Engagement and 2007's Hannibal Rising, Ulliel is featured in a series of black and white photographs with Moss in the fashion house’s autumn/winter 2008-9 campaign.

The campaign, which has a 'TopShop on the move' theme to it, features the 19-year-old Dunn starring alongside Karlie Kloss and Canadian models Kori Richardson and Amanda Lane, whose resume includes opening shows for Miu Miu and Alexander McQueen.

Hired by Harvey Weinstein and Tamara Mellon Jimmy Choo director Tamara Mellon last year to bring Halston back to life, Zanini has also reportedly designed the spring 09 collection which will debut at New York Fashion Week before leaving the company.

Calvin Klein Underwear has a new man in the person of model Garrett Neff.
Neff, who rose to modeling fame in a Calvin Klein Jeans campaign with Kate Bosworth for Summer 2008, will be the star of Calvin Klein Underwear’s autumn/winter underwear campaign. With this gig, Neff joins the ranks of international soccer star Freddie Ljungberg, actor Mark Wahlberg, and most recently Oscar-nominated actor Djimon Hounsou, all of whom have modeled for the brand in the past.
The campaign, shot in black and white by fashion photographer Bruce Weber on a beach in Miami, will debut in magazines in September.

In what could only be a clear-cut case of cashing in on the name of a celebrated icon, an entire collection using the name of the late screen goddess Marilyn Monroe will be launched next year.
According to WWD, Bradford Licensing Associates in America, which owns the rights to 400 archive photos of Monroe, in collaboration with U.K. based manufacturer Blues Clothing, will create a Marilyn Monroe-inspired clothing line that is said to be aimed at young adults.

Rihanna has signed on to become the face of Gucci’s UNICEF campaign.
No less than Gucci creative director Frida Giannini sought the Barbados-born singer out to participate in her label’s fund-raising campaign for children’s rights after seeing her perform at a UNICEF fundraiser earlier this year.
As part of her commitment with the Gucci drive, the 20-year-old Rihanna will appear in ads for the ‘Tattoo Heart’ campaign, which will see special limited edition Gucci products sold, with 25 percent of its sales to be donated to UNICEF.
