Bergdorf Goodman has just been named most prestigious luxury retailer in a survey conducted by the independent New York-based Luxury Institute.
The world renowned luxury goods store topped the 2008 Luxury Customer Experience Index (LCEI) survey, whose respondents are high net-worth consumers. Female respondents over 50 years of age with a net income of $150,000 to $199,000 and a net worth of under $1 million had favorable opinions of Bergdorf, choosing it over its sister brand Neiman Marcus and other luxury retailers.

Lifestyle and fashion magazine Russh Australia is being investigated by the Australian Classification Board after topless photos of 16-year-old model Zippora Seven were printed in its March issue, as well as in its most recent issue.

Miu Miu has reportedly chosen a new face for autumn/winter 2008-9 in the person of French singer and actress Vanessa Paradis.
Paradis, who has been the long-time partner and soon-to-be wife of “Pirates of the Caribbean” star Johnny Depp, effectively replaces actress Kirsten Dunst, who fronted Miu Miu’s spring/summer 2008 campaign, according to WWD.
Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the same team who shot Dunst for her spring '08 campaign, will once again be doing the Miu Miu campaign of Paradis, who is known for her gap-toothed smile as well.
A spokesman for Miu Miu, however, declined to comment.

Highlight of the event, which is scheduled for May 17 on the square outside Vienna City Hall, include performances by Blondie’s lead vocalist Debbie Harry and Dirty Stop Out, which also happens to be Corre’s band. The band will perform featuring Mick Jones of The Clash.

Designer Julien Macdonald, who is known for hiring big-name celebrities to model his creations on the runway, has expressed interest in having the troubled singer wear his designs on the catwalk of this year’s London Fashion Week because he thinks she has “great style”
“She’s an amazing talent, isn’t she? She’s unique”, says the designer, who hired Paris Hilton in 2006 and Naomi Campbell the following year to model his creations during fashion week.

Top industry group Walpole has chosen accessories label De Roemer to receive its Luxury Brand of Tomorrow award for 2008.

People would think that after a grueling world promo tour for the summer blockbuster “Iron Man”, Gwyneth Paltrow would take a break. Instead, she’s immediately back at work shooting a film for Italian accessories company, Tod's.
Shot in Rome, the film, which is four minutes long, was directed by actor and director Dennis Hopper, who also happens to be a long-time friend of Tod's chief executive officer Diego Della Valle. It depicts a day in the life of Paltrow, who is shown clad in a white one-shouldered dress, shopping in the city, with Tod's Pashmy bag, and aboard a boat.

Uma Thurman has filed a $15 million suit against Lancome for continuing to use her image in its ads even after her contract with the cosmetics giant has expired.
In the suit filed in Manhattan federal court, Thurman accused Lancome of giving the "false impression" that the actress is still affiliated with the cosmetics giant, though her deal ended in 2004. She also said that Lancome failed to ask wholesalers and retailers to stop displaying her ads.
